Black Friday laptop deals 2026: what's actually cheap
· Prices checked
Laptops are the trickiest Black Friday buy. Prices move every couple of weeks, the same model comes in several configurations, and the “was” price is often a price the laptop only held for a few days. In our records, the Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 was $1,349.99 on Oct 2, 2026 and $999.99 on Oct 5, 2026. That’s why the percent-off badge on a laptop tells you almost nothing, and the price history tells you a lot.
As of , two laptops are worth buying. Here they are, then the ones that already sold out or went back up, so you know what a good price looks like if they come back before Black Friday on Nov 27, 2026.

The price to wait for, by grade

Match the exact configuration
A laptop deal is tied to one configuration, not one model name. Before you compare a Black Friday price with anything above, match these lines from the spec sheet:
- Processor. The Swift Go 16 we track has an AMD Ryzen AI 7 445. The Yoga 7i 16 has an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V. The Yoga Slim 7x has a Snapdragon X2 Plus. A different chip in the same body is a different price history.
- Memory and storage. All three Lenovo Yogas and the Swift Go we track are 16GB with a 1TB drive. The IdeaPad Slim 3i is 16GB with 512GB. A 512GB version of a 1TB laptop shouldn’t be compared with the 1TB price.
- Screen. The Swift Go 16 is a 16” 1920x1200 120Hz IPS touchscreen. The Yoga 7i Aura 14 and Slim 7x are 14” OLED touchscreens. Same name, different screen, different laptop.
- For MacBooks, the chip and memory together. The two M5 Pro MacBook Pros we track are a 14” with a 15-core CPU, 24GB and 1TB, and a 16” with an 18-core CPU, 48GB and 1TB. Our notes on the 14” say stepping up to 48GB and the 18-core chip has cost about $500 more on sale.
Model-number tips for laptops
- Use the store’s full model number, not the marketing name. The Swift Go 16 we track is SFG16-A71T-R5UY. The Yoga 7i 16 is 83JT0002US. The ending characters are what separate one configuration from another.
- Lenovo’s own site can show several configurations on one page. Check that the model number in your cart matches the one you priced.
- Look up the model page. If we have enough dated prices for a model number, it has a page on our model-number index with every price we’ve recorded: SFG16-A71T-R5UY and 83JT0002US.
Buy now or wait for Black Friday?
Buy now if the laptop is at a price it’s never hit before in our records, like the Swift Go 16 and the Yoga 7i 16 as of . Black Friday might match them. Our records don’t give any reason to expect much better.
Wait if the laptop is a Lenovo sitting near its “was” price. In our records, the Yoga 7i 16 fell $350 from Oct 2 to Oct 5, 2026, and the Yoga 7i Aura 14 fell $750 from Oct 13 to Oct 21, 2026. A high Lenovo price in our records hasn’t stayed high for long.
Read the checkout line. Lenovo’s best prices often need a code. If the code doesn’t apply, you’re paying the old price.

Laptop deal questions
Are Black Friday laptop deals worth it in 2026? Some are. Both laptops we’d buy as of are under every price in their records. But a lot of laptop “deals” are a price coming back down after a short spike, so check the history before you trust the badge.
Why do Lenovo prices change so much? We can’t tell you why, but we can tell you how much. In our records, the Yoga 7i 16 went from $999.99 on Sep 21 to $1,349.99 on Oct 2 and back to $999.99 on Oct 5, 2026. The Yoga 7i Aura 14 hit $1,699.99 on Oct 1 and Oct 13, 2026, with prices $400 or more lower between those dates.
Is the Acer Swift Go 16 a good deal at $649.99? It’s the lowest new price we’ve tracked for that configuration, $100 under its September 2026 price at Best Buy. We gave it an A.
Will MacBooks be cheaper on Black Friday? Our records on the M5 Pro MacBooks are short. The 14-inch hit $1,999.99 at Micro Center on Oct 21, 2026 and was back to $2,249.99 by Oct 23, 2026. If $1,999.99 comes back, that’s the number to watch for.
Should I trust a laptop’s “comp value” or “was” price? Check it against the history. The Swift Go 16’s $1,149.99 comp value and the IdeaPad’s $1,299.99 comp price are both far above anything we’ve seen them sell for.
