Black Friday TV deals 2026: wait or buy?
· Prices checked
TVs get the loudest Black Friday ads and some of the biggest “comp value” numbers. Our records on TVs are thin as of : two TVs, and only one still on sale. So this guide doesn’t pad. You get what those two price histories show, the checks we’d run on any TV deal before Black Friday on Nov 27, 2026, and the price we’d wait for on each.
The TV worth a look as of
LG 77” Class C6H OLED evo 4K TV (2026)
DealTeacher’s grade: B (Buy now). It’s $1,999.99 at Best Buy, the lowest price we’ve found since it launched. Price last checked Oct 27, 2026, 7:27 PM ET.DealTeacher’s grade: B. This deal ended on , so it’s no longer a Buy now. It was $1,999.99 at Best Buy, the lowest price we’ve found since it launched. Price last checked Oct 26, 2026, 6:30 PM ET.
This is a real drop. Our notes have it at about $2,500 at Best Buy until mid-October 2026, and around $2,800 in late September 2026. So you’re comparing $1,999.99 with what Best Buy was charging in mid-October, not with a made-up number.
Best Buy lists a $3,699.99 “comp value” on this TV. We haven’t seen it sell for that, so leave it out of your math. When we checked on Oct 26, 2026, open-box units were listed from $1,467.99. That can be worth a look if you’re fine with open-box terms, but check the warranty and return window first.
Why a B and not an A? We have one dated price on this TV from our own checks so far (Oct 25, 2026), with the earlier prices coming from our notes, and Black Friday could still take a little more off.
The one that already left
The Pioneer 55” 4K Smart Roku TV at Best Buy (deal page) shows how budget TV prices repeat. It hit $179.99 on Nov 27, 2025 (Thanksgiving Day 2025), then again on Apr 17, May 19, Oct 4 and Oct 25, 2026, and $180 on Aug 21, 2026. It was $219.99 at Best Buy in early October 2026. Best Buy’s comp value on it was $359.99, a price we never saw it sell for.
If you missed it, wait for the next round rather than paying $40 more.
Last recorded low, by TV
| TV | Store | Last recorded low | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LG 77” C6H OLED evo (2026) | Best Buy | $1,999.99 | Oct 25, 2026 | On saleClass dismissed on |
| Pioneer 55” 4K Roku TV | Best Buy | $179.99 | Oct 25, 2026 (also Nov 27, 2025; Apr 17, May 19 and Oct 4, 2026) | Class dismissed on Oct 26, 2026 |
The price to wait for, by grade
The first column is the price we actually graded. That’s the number to wait for. The others are the rest of the prices in our records and the comp value Best Buy showed.
| TV | Wait for (our grade at that price) | Other prices we’ve recorded | Best Buy comp value |
|---|---|---|---|
| LG 77” C6H OLED | $1,999.99 (B, Oct 25, 2026) | About $2,500 until mid-October 2026; around $2,800 in late September 2026 (from our notes) | $3,699.99 |
| Pioneer 55” Roku TV | $179.99 (B, Oct 25, 2026; hit six times at $179.99 to $180 from Nov 27, 2025 to Oct 25, 2026) | $219.99 in early October 2026 | $359.99 |
One rule covers both: a new low is a buy, and a repeat low is a wait. The LG’s $1,999.99 is a new low. The Pioneer’s $179.99 kept coming back.
What to check on the spec sheet
We don’t grade picture quality. We grade prices. But a price only means something if you’re comparing the same TV, so these are the spec lines we match before we compare:
- Screen size and panel type. The LG listing is a 77” 4K OLED evo. The Pioneer is a 55” 4K UHD LED. A 65” or a different panel type is a different TV with a different price history.
- Model year. The LG listing says it’s a 2026 model. A previous-year version of the same size can look nearly identical in an ad and sell for a different price.
- Smart platform. The LG runs LG webOS. The Pioneer has Roku TV built in. If you care which one you get, check it, because ads often lead with size and price only.
- Where it’s sold. The Pioneer is sold only at Best Buy, so there’s no other store to compare against. That makes its own price history the only yardstick.
Model-number tips for TVs
- Search the full model number. The LG’s is OLED77C6HUP. In that string, “77” matches the 77-inch size. Copy every character, including the letters at the end, and search for exactly that before you compare prices.
- A model number you can’t find anywhere else starts from zero. If an ad’s TV has a model number that doesn’t match anything in a store’s regular listings, we have no history to grade it against, and neither do you.
- Same size, different number, different TV. Don’t carry a price from one model number to another, even within the same brand and size.
Got a model number? See if we have a page for it on our model-number index. We only publish a model page once we have enough dated prices, so the TVs above don’t have one yet.
Should you buy a TV now or wait for Black Friday?
Buy now if the price is below anything the TV has sold for in our records, like the LG at $1,999.99. A drop from the mid-October price is a better signal than any percent-off badge.
Wait if the TV has hit the same price before. The Pioneer kept landing at $179.99 every few months. A price that comes back that often is likely to show up again.
Skip the comp value every time. Best Buy showed one on both TVs in our records ($3,699.99 on the LG, $359.99 on the Pioneer), and we haven’t seen either sell at that price.

TV deal questions
Will TVs be cheaper on Black Friday 2026? Some may, but not always by much. The Pioneer in our records sold for the same $179.99 on Nov 27, 2025 as it did in April, May and October 2026. If a TV is already at its lowest recorded price, Black Friday may only match it.
Is Best Buy’s “comp value” a real price? Not that we’ve seen. The LG’s comp value is $3,699.99 against a $1,999.99 price, and the Pioneer’s was $359.99 against $179.99. We never saw either one sell at its comp value.
Is $1,999.99 a good price for the LG 77” C6H OLED? It’s the lowest we’ve found since launch, about $500 under what Best Buy charged until mid-October 2026. We gave it a B and a Buy now.
Are open-box TVs worth it? They can be, as long as the warranty and return window work for you. The LG was listed open-box from $1,467.99 when we checked on Oct 26, 2026. Read the terms before you count on that price.
What’s the best day to buy a TV? The day it hits a price it hasn’t hit before. Repeat prices, like the Pioneer’s, mean you’ll likely get another shot. A fresh low, like the LG’s, is the time to stop waiting.
We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. It never changes a grade.
