Black Friday vs Cyber Monday 2026: which is better?

Black Friday is Friday, Nov 27, 2026, and Cyber Monday is Monday, Nov 30, 2026. Everyone wants to know which one is cheaper. We can’t promise what stores will do in 2026, but we can show you what happened in 2025 to the prices in our records.
Short answer: in our records, the prices that showed up during Black Friday week 2025 were mostly the same prices that showed up in October 2025. Cyber Monday 2025 had just one recorded price, and it wasn’t a low. And several lows came back in December 2025.
One honest caveat up front: this is a small sample, and it’s mostly power tools from Home Depot and Lowe’s. Treat it as a pattern worth knowing, not a rule.
The 2025 calendar, for reference
Thanksgiving 2025 was Thursday, Nov 27. Black Friday 2025 was Friday, Nov 28, and Cyber Monday 2025 was Monday, Dec 1. In 2026, Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov 26, Black Friday is Nov 27 and Cyber Monday is Nov 30.
What we recorded, October 2025 to January 2026
We sorted every dated price in our records from October 2025 through January 2026 by when it showed up.
October 2025 (9 prices). This is where most of the 2025 deals in our records first appeared. Home Depot had Milwaukee’s SURGE impact driver kit and M18 battery kit at $199 on Oct 27, the leaf blower kit at $199 on Oct 28 and the Milwaukee 2854 impact wrench kit (no page) at $199 on Oct 29. The Milwaukee tape 2-pack was $19.97 on Oct 27, the Husky tool kit was $30 on Oct 28, and the DEWALT circular saw kit was $229 on Oct 7. Best Buy had the Greenworks mower at $379.99 on Oct 28, and Lowe’s had the Kobalt tape 2-pack at $12.98 on Oct 13.
Nov 1 to 26, 2025 (5 prices). The Milwaukee tape was $19.97 again on Nov 10. The Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 was $99.99 on Nov 17. The blower was $199 again on Nov 21, and the Greenworks mower was $380 on Nov 23. The RYOBI 4Ah and 2Ah kit hit $87 on Nov 25, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday 2025 (3 prices). A Pioneer 55” Roku TV (no page) was $179.99 at Best Buy on Thanksgiving, Nov 27. The Kobalt tape was $12.98 on Saturday, Nov 29, the same price as Oct 13. On Cyber Monday, Dec 1, a DJI Mini 4 Pro combo (no page) was $769, the same price we’d recorded on Apr 13, 2025, and $70 above the $699 it sold for at Newegg on Oct 25, 2026.
December 2025 to January 2026 (6 prices). The Milwaukee tape was $19.97 again on Dec 16. The RIDGID drywall cut-out kit was $79 on Dec 18, then $69 on Dec 22 and Jan 13. The 2854 wrench was back to $199 on Dec 23, and the Milwaukee Rover flood light was $79 on Dec 26.
What that tells you
October prices came back, but didn’t drop further. Wherever we had both an October and a late-November 2025 price, they matched or nearly matched. The blower was $199 on Oct 28 and Nov 21, 2025. The Greenworks mower was $379.99 on Oct 28 and $380 on Nov 23, 2025. The Kobalt tape was $12.98 on Oct 13 and Nov 29, 2025. The same thing happened in 2024: Home Depot’s Milwaukee inflator kit was $199 on Oct 21, 2024 and $199 again on Thanksgiving, Nov 28, 2024.
Cyber Monday didn’t stand out in our records. We have just one Cyber Monday 2025 price, and it wasn’t a low. That’s not proof Cyber Monday is worse. It mostly tells you our records lean toward tools and stores that run their big prices earlier.
December brought repeats. The Milwaukee tape and the 2854 wrench were at their October 2025 prices again in December 2025, and the drywall kit first hit its $69 low on Dec 22, 2025. If you miss a deal in November, it may come back.
Some lows did land right before Thanksgiving. The RYOBI kit’s $87 on Nov 25, 2025 is still the lowest we’ve recorded for it. It was $99 at Home Depot on Oct 26, 2026, so that one’s worth waiting on.
How the stores have announced 2026 so far
As of Oct 29, 2026, Costco and Lowe’s have released item-level Black Friday ads, and Lowe’s says its Black Friday deals begin Oct 29. Best Buy, BJ’s, Target, The Home Depot and Walmart have released event dates only. Walmart has announced Black Friday Deals events starting Nov 12 and Nov 23 and a Cyber Monday event from Nov 30 to Dec 2. Buy now or wait?
Buy now if the Oct 26, 2026 price already matches or beats the fall 2025 price. The Greenworks mower and Kobalt tape are both under what they cost in late November 2025, and the Milwaukee kits are at the same $199 they’ve hit every fall we have records for.
The one non-tool standout was a monitor. We graded the Samsung Odyssey OLED G7 32” a B when it was $699.99 at B&H, the lowest public price we’d tracked, with a $200 cart coupon on top. Wait if we’ve recorded a lower price than the Oct 26, 2026 one. The RYOBI kit ($87 vs $99) and the Harman Kardon speaker ($99.99 vs $149.99) both had lower prices in November 2025.
Ask about price adjustments. If you buy early and the price drops, some stores will refund the difference within a set window. Policies change, and some exclude certain sales, so check the store’s current policy before you count on it.

Is Black Friday or Cyber Monday cheaper in 2026? We can’t know yet. In our records from 2025, Black Friday-week prices mostly matched October prices, and our one Cyber Monday 2025 price wasn’t a low.
When is Cyber Monday 2026? Monday, Nov 30, 2026. Black Friday is Friday, Nov 27, and Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov 26.
Do Black Friday prices come back in December? Often, in our records. The Milwaukee tape 2-pack was $19.97 in October, November and December 2025, and the RIDGID drywall kit hit $69 on Dec 22, 2025 and again on Jan 13, 2026.
Should I buy a power tool deal in October or wait for Black Friday? If it matches a price you’ve seen before, buying early hasn’t cost much in our records. The Milwaukee blower was $199 on Oct 28, 2025 and still $199 on Nov 21, 2025.
Are these patterns true for every store? No. Our sample is small and mostly tools from Home Depot, Lowe’s and Best Buy. Electronics and online-only stores may behave differently.
